I had an internship at Easter Seals Ontario where I worked as a Grant Writer and Research Coordinator.
In this position I:
- Researched over 100 companies and foundations for grant eligibility.
- Drafted grant proposals to attract and secure monetary donations; acquired funding ($15,000) from a high profile charity.
During my time at Easter Seals, I learned more about the different ways that the company helps children with physical disabilities. Everyone at Easter Seals are passionate about what they do and this shows in their work.
I had the privilege of attending one of the camp days at Camp Woodeden, one of the two Easter Seals camps in Ontario. I saw how this completely accessible camp provides for the children and how the children all strived in a world designed for them. It was a pleasure to see, and going to this camp renewed my determination to continue getting funding from foundations/charities. Any monetary donations from these grant proposals go to helping financially assisting these children with essential equipment and/or for them to go to camp.
